About Me

O satisfy us in

the morning with

Your lovingkindness,

That we may sing

for joy and be glad

all our days.

Navy blue the sky with silver

Salve. The sky is really beautiful tonight. There was a bar of cloud across a wide strip, and it was so perfectly smooth and nicely shaped.

I got a lot of Europe shopping done tonight. I stayed up late to do it, but I got a ton of stuff that will make the little weekend trips much easier (like plastic bottles to put shampoo in and stuff like that). Also I found some pretty great black pants at Walmart, which means I can retire my sad ones that I like but that don't fit well. The poor lady at the try-on rooms got tired of seeing me come up with big piles, I'm sure. But she was nice. :)

I regrettably missed seeing my Mom tonight before she went to bed, though, which is sad. And my Dad is out of town, and Doug and Laura are at a movie. Quiet house. I will miss my family when I'm gone. Two weeks is remarkably soon.

Last night, I got a better perspective on what it will be like to be gone. Justin and I were at the top of the new parking garage in Blacksburg and looked out on the town. It's really amazing, how completely different it looks from so high. Not that I can't recognize it, but since I'm here so much of the time, it's rare to have the feeling of being unfamiliar with my surroundings. It was kind of cool, because it brought home the feeling of "yes, I'm really going to be in Europe by this time in three weeks. Less, even." Wow.

Well, I am going to bring this blog to a close. Goodnight all.
